FEMA Disaster Surveys
The Kentucky Department for Local Government (DLG) seeks input to assist in drafting an action plan to spend approximately $74 million in federal funding to assist with the ongoing response to FEMA disasters 4595 and 4630 for the Severe Storms, Flooding, Landslide/Mudslides, Straight-line Winds, and Tornadoes that hit the state in 2021. The funds are provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program.
As a requirement per HUD, the state must complete several tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting an Unmet and Mitigation Needs Assessment, developing an Action Plan that identifies how the state will utilize CDBG-DR funds to address unmet disaster recovery and mitigation needs.
Community participation is essential, as the state develops an Action Plan and identifies priority long-term recovery needs. You will be able to provide your feedback in the following ways:
1. Complete an Unmet Needs Survey that will help the state identify recovery needs. (versión en español disponible también)
2. Provide feedback on the Action Plan during a specified public comment period.
